“This is our new residence,” he confessed. “I inherited it from Aunt Rose. I wanted us to have additional space for Mia, and potentially for another child if we decide to expand our family. I’ve been renovating it personally.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn’t know whether to believe him. The gesture was beautiful\u2014we were indeed outgrowing our current home, and this new property appeared ideal. Spacious enough for our family, possibly another child, and even a puppy for Mia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just then, we heard the front door close and footsteps on the wooden floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is Linda,” Jordan introduced. “She’s the interior designer. She’s my boss’s daughter, and she’s utilizing our home as her first significant project.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s wonderful to finally meet you, Ivy,” Linda gushed, stepping forward to shake my hand. “It’s been a privilege working on your home. Jordan speaks constantly about you and Mia.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Linda has met Mia,” Jordan explained. “It was a brief meeting to determine which shade of pink Mia preferred for her room.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stories aligned\u2014it clarified how Mia had encountered Linda and been impressed by her hair, which was indeed as beautiful as my daughter had described.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
